The Immigration Office can terminate the stay of an EU citizen who no longer meets the conditions for the right to stay in Belgium for more than three months

The Immigration Office can also put an end to the stay of an EU citizen who constitutes an unreasonable burden on the social assistance system of Belgium. In order to determine whether an EU citizen constitutes an unreasonable burden on the social assistance system, account is taken of the temporary nature of his/her difficulties, the duration of his/her stay in Belgium, his/her personal situation and the amount of aid granted.

The Immigration Office can also terminate the residence of an EU citizen who has used false or misleading information, or false or falsified documents, or who has committed fraud or used other illegal means that have contributed to obtaining residence.

Finally, the Immigration Office can terminate the stay of an EU citizen for reasons of public order, national security or public health.

In deciding to terminate the stay of an EU citizen, the Immigration Office takes into account the length of the person's stay in the Kingdom, their age, state of health, family and economic situation, social and cultural integration in the Kingdom and the extent of their ties to their country of origin.
