Visa type A   Airport Transit Visa 

Airport Transit Visa (ATV = Visa type A) means a visa valid for transit through the international transit area of one airport of the Member States. This visa does not enable an entry into the .

Common list of third countries listed in Annex I to Regulation (EC) no 539/2001, whose nationals are required to be in possession of an airport transit visa when passing through the international transit area of airports situated on the territory of the Member States

For the nationalities under the sections 13-23 above: the ATV requirement does not apply to holders of service or special passports issued by the countries concerned.
