Visa type A Airport Transit Visa
Airport Transit Visa (ATV = Visa type A) means a visa valid for transit through the international transit area of one airport of the Member States. This visa does not enable an entry into the Schengen area.
Common list of third countries listed in Annex I to Regulation (EC) no 539/2001, whose nationals are required to be in possession of an airport transit visa when passing through the international transit area of airports situated on the territory of the Member States
1. AFGHANISTAN
2. BANGLADESH
3.DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO
4. ERITREA
5. ETHIOPIA
6. GHANA
7. IRAN
8. IRAQ
9. NIGERIA
10. PAKISTAN
11. SOMALIA
12. SRI LANKA
Aside from these third countries, other third countries can also be subject to the airport transit visa requirement.
